A heat-seal lid that lets consumers drain water — without aluminium, extra plastic parts or changes to the existing sealing equipment.
We have just developed a new aluminium-free draining lid for instant foods that are cooked with hot water and then mixed with sauce.
The difference is built into the lid:
• Integrated filter mesh for draining hot water
• One pull tab for a simple opening process
• Aluminium-free structure suitable for microwave use
• Compatible with existing heat-seal lidding equipment
• No separate plastic strainer or additional accessory required
The preparation process is simple:
1. Add water and heat or soak the product.
2. Lift the single pull tab.
3. Drain the water through the integrated filter.
4. Add the sauce, mix and serve in the same cup.
It is designed for products such as dry noodles, stir-fry noodles, sauced pasta and other instant meals where the water needs to be removed before adding seasoning.
For food brands, the key advantage is not only consumer convenience. The structure can add a draining function without forcing the filling factory to replace its existing heat-sealing equipment.
For consumers, one lid performs three jobs: sealing, filtering and opening. The video shows the actual preparation and draining process.
Would an integrated draining lid make your instant-food product easier to prepare?
